And one-man country music party machine Warren Dane returned to Altoona’s Hitching Post last month. You can tell this guy does it for the love of playing and providing the good time; he roadtripped nearly 3 hours in from Kulpmont (near Shamokin), and then proceeded to play nearly nonstop for well over five hours! Again demonstrating his deep and rich voice, Warren kept the small but happy Hitching Post crowd festive with country favorites from Johnny Cash, George Strait, Tim McGraw, David Frizzell, Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers and more; and also mixed in rock and folk favorites from Harry Chapin, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, and even demonstrated a convincing Roger Waters voice on Pink Floyd’s “Mother!” Warren was joined along the way by his Hitching Post partner in crime Steve Yetzko and guest Darren on guitar. The mood was continually lighthearted, as Warren worked in comedy numbers from Rodney Carrington and his own tongue-in-cheek creations. Even “Mama Buttcheek” was dancing and singing along! Warren Dane offers one of the best laid-back country good times since Hee Haw; catch his next visit to The Hitching Post and experience him yourself!

And he also had this to say in the January 2008 edition of Pennsylvania Musician Magazine:

Kulpmont-based country crooner Warren Dane returned to The Hitching Post last month.  Accompanied by and alternating sets with State College’s Steve Yetzko, Warren performed his laid-back brand of acoustic country and folk sounds.  Displaying a sturdy and resonant voice, Warren sang and strummed a wide range of material, from John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Roads,” Gordon Lightfoot’s “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” and Harry Chapin’s “Taxi” to classic country favorites by Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson, modern country from Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney; even a Rodney Carrington novelty song!  Warren and Steve kept the mood casual and lighthearted, and the show took on a vibe of two friends having fun strumming and singing on the back porch.  Again, these two had so much fun with the audience, they played on well past the scheduled 10 PM quitting time!

This was from April 2007...:

On the country front, I saw Warren Dane for the first time last month during Wednesday “Country Night” at Altoona’s Hitching Post.  From Kulpmont, Warren demonstrated a rich, deep voice and a relaxed vibe as he performed country favorites, select rock’n’roll and original songs.  His repertoire this night included such selections as Gordon Lightfoot’s “Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald,” Garth Brooks favorites such as “Thunder Rolls” and “Two Piña Coladas,” Brad Paisley’s “Alcohol” and Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler;” also numbers from Johnny Cash, Warren Zevon, Jimmy Buffett, and his playful original number “Sister Mabel.”  Along the way, Warren was joined by several friends; Steve Hoffman and Steve Yetzko on guitars, and Forrest Kerstetter on bass.  Cheered on by a festive Hitching Post audience and staff, Warren and his accomplices had so much fun that they continued to play two hours past their scheduled 10pm end time (to the delight of Hitching Post main man Butch, who even sang along with the musicians on stage).  Warren Dane provides a fun, sing-along good time; watch for his return to the Hitching Post, and on stages throughout central PA.
